Easter

EASTER is a new collection of ceramics by GUNIA Project, an interpretation of Easter aesthetics, a refreshing essence of a holiday atmosphere.

This time, the brand’s artistry is infused with abstractive and minimalistic motifs. The compositions become more airy and non-linear, still, preserving their inherent delicacy. An alternative stylistic perspective comes to life through the paintings on the plates, tea or coffee sets, and other ceramic objects comprising the collection. Lamb-shaped candle holders are reminiscent of the animalistic symbolism of Easter, and egg-shaped plates are dedicated to the symbol of life and rebirth. The color palette celebrates the awakening of nature which comes with spring.

The design is driven by the 20th-century wall paintings from Uman, as well as artworks by Evmen Pshechenko, and, most importantly, traditional ornamentations of pysanky from the Polissia and Kharkiv regions. Usually, the ornamentation of pysanky follows a symmetrical rhythm, which reminds of the cycles of life and nature. The GUNIA Project ceramic objects are hand-painted in freely arranged compositions, with the craftsmen utilizing colorful glazes and gold. These paintings can inspire unique, modern ornamentations for pysanky. And the collection itself is meant to become a highlight of a festive table and a symbol of the warmest gatherings.
