“Birdsong” collection is the result of diligent work with references to Ukrainian naïve art and a curiosity for experiments that naturally invite tradition into the modern wardrobe.The decorative component of the collection takes its inspiration from embroidered rushnyky from the Ivan Honchar Museum archive. The ornaments and patterns trace motifs from a 19th-century vertical floral rug. Cross-stitch emerges as the defining technique, appearing not only in the abundant embroidery of shirts but also in the renewed GUNIA logo. The image of a bee comes from an embroidery by an unknown artisan, discovered through the Old Khata Project. Nature-inspired motifs take on geometric forms and are complemented by the authentic ruta star.

Painted with touching scenes and soft colors, the “Birdsong” collection is designed to adorn the Easter table. Decorated with authentic motifs and gilding, the pieces become an artistic celebration of a special holiday — a symbol of gathering with loved ones and the bright memories that follow. The painted designs draw influence from embroidered rushnyky from the Ivan Honchar Museum and the brand’s personal archives. The collection continues GUNIA’s extensive exploration of Ukrainian naïve art, aiming to highlight the uniqueness of this artistic phenomenon and present it anew to both Ukrainian and international audiences. True to the brand’s tradition, all pieces are handcrafted by artisans and painted by artists at GUNIA’s ceramic studio in Kyiv.
