Description

The selection of postcards accompanies the publication of selected pages from Ivan Honchar's 18-volume album "Ukraine and Ukrainians".

Those were created in wartime, during the period of the Russian illegal and unprovoked aggression against Ukraine, when the story and the scale of cultural and human losses of the 20th and 21st centuries are being redefined.

The authors draw attention to the cultural heritage of those areas affected by the current war.

The selection of postcards includes toponyms, the names of towns and regions that appear in the current international reports about Ukraine: Gostomel, Odeschyna, Borodyanka, Chornobyl, Kyiv, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, Konotop, Vasylkiv, Slobozhanshchyna, Crimea.

The selection also includes those famous names that make Ukraine glorious. Among them is the strongest man in the world, six-time world wrestling champion Ivan Piddubny (1871–1949).

The selected postcards also visualize precious moments of family and cultural life of the 20th century in different regions of Ukraine: i.e. weddings, family life, national costumes, and architectural monuments.
