Description

Square Plate Koliada. The central image is designed based on the 1849 painted ceramic tiles by Oleksa Bahmatiuk and a 1905 photo of carolers from the Donetsk region. Koliada is an ancient tradition of winter-time festivity, involving house-to-house visits with special songs and poems. The composition is adorned with geometrical ornaments. Hand-painted.
